Hello Readers,

One aspect of security many people are failing to think about is the security aspect of their Wi-Fi routers. Without a security key enabled on your router anybody with a Wi-Fi enabled device is able to connect to your internet and computer network without you even knowing it.

Some people think they can just access the internet via your router but the horrid truth is that they can actually do alot more.

They could store a keylogger on your machine, which would allow them to save all sorts of information such as passwords, credit and debit card info that they have typed into websites when buying items online and all sorts of other private information.

Not only this, the fact that they can use your internet means anything they do using your connection would be traced back to you. Many hackers use other peoples connections in order to perform illegal operations so that they can’t be traced.

This can all be stopped by using a very simple form of security. In fact the security itself isn’t simple at all but setting it up is pretty easy if you follow the instructions provided by your router manufacturer.

If you don’t want to do this yourself, or don’t know if your Wi-Fi router is secure then this is one of the services that we offer at a very reasonable one off price.

After all, how much would you pay to protect yourself and your family.

All the best

Jamie

WOW! We must be going nuts, offering PC towers installed with Ubuntu Linux starting from £169.99.

The world is an amazing place, every which way we turn there is a decision, an opportunity or a choice. With such variety in the world it’s only right we play along and offer you something most PC Manufacturers don’t and probably won’t for some time to come.

Linux is here, we have launched 3 new PC Towers specifically designed to be used with the ‘Ubuntu’ Linux Operating System.

With Open Source becoming ever more popular, now is the right time to start your new digital lifestyle on a different OS.

Linux is a fast, safe and secure operating environment. This is perfect for use in the office environment or for a cheap computer to let the kids do homework.

Ubuntu comes installed with many applications from the word go. One in particular is the package, ‘Open Office’, this allows you to write documents, spreadsheets, presentations, algebra and is compatible with Microsoft Office files.

Benefits:

- Included Office Suite
- File Management
- Media Player
- Thunderbird email client
- FireFox Secure Web Browser
- Updates are automatic
- You don’t have to pay for brand new releases of the whole Operating System
- Not resource hungry, runs fast and reliable
- No real need for Anti-Virus to be running in the background, Linux doesn’t have the threats Windows now has. In case, there is an Open Source Anti-Virus program if you want complete peace of mind.

People are moving over to windows alternatives everyday. Now is your chance to do so.

Plus as a bonus, the computers we have for you will all run XP should you not wish to use the Ubuntu Linux OS anymore, or if you want to dual boot the machine. The most expensive one will also run Vista flawlessly. (You’ll need to purchase the Microsoft Windows products separately if you’d like to do this)

The machines are so cheap because you’re basically paying for just the Hardware. Ubuntu is Open Source which basically means ‘Free’ to you, so all we do is put a little on top for setting it up for you.

Aren’t we nice!

We want to support the Open Source initiative as much as possible. This is a great opportunity for people to get on the Linux Ladders.

Visit our shop here:

Wicked!

Cheers All

Anti-Virus has become a bit of a sore point for PC users as of late. Norton, McAffee are crazy resource hungry apps and to be quite frank many people end up realising this AND realising that for personal use, you need not pay a penny for Anti-Virus protection.

This means we get asked lots of questions about such programs and Norton is a bit of a pain when it comes to uninstalling, the following example question we have been asked quite a few times now:

“I tried to uninstall Norton, but the Add/Remove Programs in the control panel doesn’t work like normal, what can I do?”

The answer is pretty simple, the only true way to get rid of Norton is to download and run the Norton Removal Tool, supplied free online by Symantec themselves.

Download It HERE

Make sure you know what version of Norton you have on your PC, and download the version of the tool which applies to you. It is a small download, but may take a little while to actually complete the removal task as there is quite a bit to remove.

There are plenty of free alternatives to the likes of Norton, two we recommend are:

Grisoft AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition

Avast Anti-Virus Free Home Edition
